Law Enforcement ProfessionalsThe U.S. Secret Service, Treasury Department’s Bureau of Engraving and Printing and Federal Reserve are coordinating a global public education program to ensure the law enforcement community, as well as businesses and the general public, have the educational tools they need to prepare for a smooth transition to the new bill designs and to learn the easy-to-use security features. A new $5 bill was issued on March 13, 2008. It will be followed by a new $100 bill. These redesigns are part of the United States government’s ongoing efforts to stay ahead of counterfeiting.
