BUREAU OF ENGRAVING AND PRINTING
ACCEPTING INVITATIONS FOR PARTICIPATION
Each year the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) accepts invitations to participate in numismatic events around the world. The BEP participates in these events to educate the public about its mission, and role in producing and maintaining the highest quality United States securities, specifically paper currency.
The BEP often showcases exhibits of artistic and rare materials, including specimens of antique or unique currency of historic and educational significance. At selected events, the BEP showcases it’s Billion Dollar Exhibit and a Plate Printer is present to demonstrate the age-old art of intaglio printing on a rarely seen, vintage 19th Century “spider press.” The BEP has expanded its educational outreach initiatives to include a variety of special live demonstrations such as the “Engravers Workbench” and the “Mutilated Currency Examination and Redemption” exhibits.
The BEP’s participation at these events provide a platform for educational outreach to the public on the advancements and historical significance of our nation’s currency and the opportunity to showcase BEP business in a manner many people would never be able to experience.
At each event, the BEP provides unique currency related items that are available for purchase by the public. These items include sheets of uncut currency, professionally packaged premium products, special intaglio print cards, shredded currency and numerous specialty items.
REQUIREMENTS: Show sponsors, bourse chairmen, and/or coordinators are required to sign a Security Agreement (see sample attached) issued by the BEP’s Office of Security, prior to BEP’s participation. The sponsoring organization shall provide the booth space (35’ x 40’ minimum), transportation costs for exhibits/spider press (if applicable) and products (via secure transport), tables, table skirts, display cases/lamps, electricity, phone service, carpeting and drayage services with a maximum amount of support, protection and integrity for the BEP.
Organizations interested in the BEP’s participation should submit a written request with all pertinent information to:
