Due to the pandemic and BEP’s critical function of producing U.S. currency and meeting the current high demand for cash, the BEP remains closed to visitors. Tour reservations are not being accepted at this time, and a date has not been determined for when tours might resume. Congressional offices will be notified and our website will be updated in advance of a change in status.

Washington, DC Tours - Congressional Tours

The BEP grants a limited number of congressional tours reserved through the office of your U.S. Senator or Representative. Congressional tours are free and reserved on a first come-first served basis, and are offered Monday through Friday throughout the year at 8:15 a.m. and 8:45 a.m.  During peak visitor season, April through August, congressional tours are also offered every 15 minutes between 4:00 p.m. and 4:45 p.m. To request a congressional tour, contact the office of your U.S. Senator or Representative.  


Note to Congressional Offices: Congressional staff may schedule a tour(s) for up to 10 constituents per member per calendar day. Member offices may submit a maximum of five requests per day. Tours may be scheduled up to six (6) months in advance of the requested date. To reserve a tour, complete the Congressional Tour Reservation Request Form and email it to The BEP Tour Scheduler will provide you with a tour confirmation number to provide your guests, typically within 48 hours. Guests must have their tour confirmation number to enter the tour.

Groups of more than 10 participants should complete the Group Reservation Request Form and email it directly to BEP offers limited reserved tour times for groups of 10 or more people from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and advises tour services and organizations to make reservations well in advance of their visit. Group reservations are free.

The BEP is a federal government organization and adheres to closure, late arrival or early dismissal guidance issued by the Office of Personnel Management (  OPM determines the federal agency operating status for the Washington, DC area. In the event of unexpected closure, please contact the Tour Scheduler with the tour confirmation number to reschedule the tour as soon as possible.
